Toilets in Salmon Arm

A toilet that keeps running, will not flush, or rocks on the floor. Most of these can wait until daytime. Call us if water is overflowing.

The shutoff for a toilet is usually the small valve on the wall behind the bowl.

While you wait

  • If the bowl is about to overflow, shut the valve on the wall behind the toilet. Turn it clockwise. Then call us.
  • A toilet that runs on its own is often the flapper not sealing, or the fill valve. You can stop the noise by shutting that same valve. The toilet just will not refill until it is open again.
  • Do not keep flushing a toilet that is already full. The water has nowhere to go.
  • If other drains in the house are slow at the same time, the clog is likely past the toilet. See clogged drains.
  • A rocking toilet can leak at the wax ring. Snug the closet bolts a little if they are loose. Do not crank them until the porcelain cracks.

When to call

Call us for a toilet that will not shut off, will not flush, or leaks at the base. Dripping taps are on the faucet page. We confirm the price before we start.
